PRIMUS ANTIPOP 1999

Ahora si regrese y con un disco imprescindible el famoso Antipop de Primus, un disco genial que cuenta con la participación de Tom Morello (Rage AGainst tje Machine, Audioslave).

Es un disco que ha pesar de los años sigue escuchandose poderoso, con unos bits bien mezclados y nada que ver con lo que se comercializo en aquel año pero además la rola que da nombre al disco describia muy bien lo que en ese entonces ya se venia venir, y que actualmetne vivimos una sobreexplotación y sobreexposición masiva de información, y que como siempre es algo que tiene que ver con el espiritu del blog y del rock.

Creo que si fue un disco contracultural en muchos aspectos por que  realmente proponia y mostraba sonidos diferentes y más bien basados en una línea debajo que se escuha tambien en Rage Against The Machine. sin caer en el grunge que ya no tenia tanta cabida y tampoco en el heavy metal pero tampoco era algo como esa cosa que después se le conocio como nü metal, pero esa es otra historia.

Como ya dije no fue tan comercial y ahora en México es casi imposible encontrarlo , porlo que recurri como muchas veces a ebay, asi que si les interesa el disco lo pueden conseguir ya con envío en unos 14 o 16 dolarés.

Soy Antipop; voy a correr contra la corriente hasta el día en que caiga. Yo soy el Antipop; el hombre que no puede parar.

Primus is sometimes considered a square peg in a round hole amongst the band's musical peers. Yet somehow, Les Claypool and company have always managed a perfect fit. Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello brings his percussive and unnerving guitar sound to "Electric Uncle Sam" and "Mama Didn't Raise No Fool." On the tongue-in-cheek "Sacred Cow," Les Claypool's distinctive slap-bass style shines. Guitarist Larry LaLonde is conservative yet brilliant in his moody, textural playing that is fitting without ever being flashy. "Eclectic Electric" brings together an unlikely pair of guests: Jim Martin and Metallica's James Hetfield, both of whom were in bands with the late Cliff Burton. Drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, who returned to Primus for THE BROWN ALBUM, neatly fills the vacancy left by Tim Alexander, offering complex rhythms and jazz-influenced dynamics.
